The desk.
Simon Mavec, Graz.
I make maps for people who cannot afford to be lost. Some are for teams that have to act when the network is gone. One is for anyone about to drive a long way through Austria. The rest were built when nothing depended on it, and are kept for exactly that reason.
What I build
- ATLAS
- A command platform for emergency response teams. Peer-to-peer on the local network, so it keeps working when the internet doesn’t. lageatlas.eu
- Beifahrer
- One briefing before a long drive through Austria: traffic, weather, closures, tolls and winter rules, for your route and your hour of departure. Winter 2026/27. beifahrer.at
- LOAM
- A quiet field for the recurring things that matter but never become urgent. Distance is time, not debt. It lives in your browser and nowhere else.
What I built when nothing depended on it
- the cabinet
- Nine rooms and a workshop, drawn as a floor plan. A rain of letters, a garden that grows and forgets, an atlas of places nobody surveyed, a mirror, a window, an observatory, a music box, an envelope, and a letter. Nothing in it is essential. That, I think, is the point.
How to reach me
- simon.mavec@me.com
- A letter is the right speed. I read everything; I answer what I can.
- github.com/SimonMav
- The code that is public.
- a card
- If you need one. It prints at 85 × 55 mm.
